Transport and logistics is a very diverse sector which plays a major role in the UK and global economy. It enables the movement of goods, services and people as efficiently as possible. Yet despite the simplicity of the concept it is a highly complex area of law drawing together a number of commercial, contractual and regulatory strands.
Our team understands that transport providers must balance economic, environmental, technical and safety interests within the confines of limited funding and very long lead times for most new infrastructure. We also understand the interrelation between the different modes of transport and their different regulatory requirements leading to a truly integrated knowledge of the industry.
Regardless of mode, whether road, rail, air or sea, we offer you an experienced, innovative and pro-active service. It was this ability to innovate that resulted in us being the first Scottish law firm to act in relation to the authorisation of a major rail project under the private bill process (Stirling-Alloa-Kincardine Railway Project).
We have also acted as key legal advisers on most of the other major rail projects including the Waverley Railway Project, the Edinburgh Airport Rail Link and the Glasgow Airport Rail Link, some of Scotland's largest infrastructure projects.
