Drafting legislation is a highly skilled area of work with results that have potentially far-reaching effects on society.

In addition to advising on legislative procedure and the practical application of law, our Parliamentary and Public Law unit has extensive experience in the provision of legislative drafting services.

We can assist with drafting legislation in a variety of contexts:

• primary legislation, including public and private Bills,
• secondary legislation, including professional and regulatory rules, Royal Charters, Orders of Council and Harbour Orders, and
• Bill amendments.

Combined with our drafting expertise in Scotland, we have a well-established co-operation agreement with parliamentary agents at Westminster.
