Robert Carr


Robert is our Chairman. He is also a partner in our Dispute Resolution department and head of our Healthcare, Regulatory and Public Law teams.
Robert holds the appointment of Crown Estate Solicitor (Scotland), advising The Crown Estate on all their legal requirements in Scotland.
Robert was the Prince of Wales' Ambassador for CSR in Scotland for 2009.
Robert is also accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in medical negligence and personal injury litigation. He is a solicitor advocate and won ‘Specialist of the Year’ at the Scottish Legal Awards in February 2004.
Robert is a member of the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers and prosecutes professional disciplinary cases. He has significant experience of interpreting professional disciplinary rules and regulations with a particular focus on human rights law.
Robert has extensive experience in advising public bodies on the interpretation of their governing legislation and in acting on their behalf when their decisions or actions are challenged.
Robert has 25 years’ experience of commercial litigation and delictual liabilities. He has been involved in pursuing and defending many major personal injuries claims including claims for medical negligence.
Robert has successfully pursued claims for injured parties, insurers and property owners and has recovered damages totalling well into 7 figures.
He has also handled the defence of a number of high profile personal injury claims including repetitive strain injury claims, bulk deafness claims and psychological damage on behalf of a number of insurers.
