John Fulton, a partner at Anderson Strathern, will address a Chinese business delegation at a conference titled ‘Scotland: China’s Gateway to European Market Agenda’, taking place in Shenzhen, China, on 8 December.

The event forms part of the programme for a trade mission from the Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI) to Hong Kong and Southern China.

Following a welcome address by the First Minister of Scotland, John Fulton will take to the stage to present on the topic of how to set up business in Scotland, and will cover the legal and employment issues surrounding such a move.

John is a chapter author of 'The Asian Buyers Guide to UK Property' and has delivered seminars and written articles for a range of audiences and publications internationally on topics including the law of succession to agricultural holdings in Scotland, taxation breaks for forestry in the UK, and listing on AIM in China.

John Fulton commented:

The opportunities for Scottish businesses in China can prove very fruitful and I aim to address just how you can venture into this vast marketplace at the conference.

China is now the 15th largest export market for Scotland, worth £295million in 2008. The World Bank has forecast that China will achieve 8.7% GDP growth in 2011 which will put it on the verge of becoming the World’s largest economy and 2nd largest nation.”
