  • Acting for Edinburgh’s Fettes College through the processes of amending their administrative scheme to comply with recent legislation.
  • Acting for Glasgow School of Art on the redevelopment of their estate, Phase 1, which includes refurbishment of the Category A listed Macintosh Building and the construction of a new building on Renfrew Street.
  • Advised Edinburgh Napier University regarding the redevelopment of its campus and the institution’s rebranding. We also ensured that any issues that arose relating to the University’s charitable status were quickly addressed.
  • Advised the shadow board of Scotlands Colleges on all aspects of the proposed merger of three charitable bodies in the further education sector; the Scottish Further Education Unit, the Association of Scotland’s Colleges and the Colleges’ Open Learning Exchange Group, to form a new charitable body, Scotland’s Colleges.
  • Advised the University of Edinburgh on the employment law aspects of its proposed merger with the Roslin Institute.
  • Acting for Higher Education sector clients in a number of race discrimination claims brought by same applicant.
  • Advising client in the Further Education sector on allegations made by a student of failure to make reasonable adjustments.
