Neil Farrell
Neil is a partner in our Commercial Real Estate department.
He heads our English property group and is a member of our infrastructure group and our retail, finance and development group.
Qualifying in Scotland in 1990, Neil has 20 years experience in development and investment led commercial property transactions. Since dual qualifying in 1998, he has acted on property transactions in England and Wales and most of his business is in those jurisdictions.
He specialises in the retail and healthcare sectors. Neil also has specialist property experience on procurement projects in healthcare, schools and transport.
He has acted on a number of shopping centre acquisitions for the buyer and funder. This includes shopping centres in Woking, Hamilton, Haverfordwest, Havant and Ealing, as well as individual retail units. His team manages shopping centres. A retail highlight of 2010 was leading the property team in relation to the acquisition of Wolsey Place Shopping Centre, Woking for £68 million, acting for Woking Borough Council.
Neil's specialist experience in the healthcare sector goes back more than ten years. He has now acted on over £500 million of transactional work in this sector including acquisitions, sales, property finance and management work. Neil represents Quercus Healthcare Property Partnership, a market leading investment fund for this sector, backed by Aviva and Quintain Estates among others.
Neil has also acted for a number of private sector developers, forward purchasers and funders on property aspects of a variety of infrastructure projects (valued at over £100 million).
